The Kroger website reports whether an item can be ordered for pickup at each store. That comes from store inventory but is not the same as the shelf. "Back" here means pickup was offered again.
In the study's terms this is a pickup eligibility feed. Readings for a specific store were recorded daily at most chains; no shelf was audited.
